To the west of Laudun, the road leads to the wild hills of the Cevennes. Here, the chestnut tree groves surround the villages and isolated farms with their characteristic architecture. |

Or you could travel south from Laudun to Nimes and definitely stop at the Pont du Gard on the way - this fabulous Roman aqueduct is classed as a world monument.
Further south is the land of water and sun, the Rhone river delta known as Camargue. |
