The Cotes du Rhone wines are divided into two geographic regions: the northern from Vienne to Valence, and the southern from Bollène to Avignon.
In this southern part, the appellation Laudun, a Cotes du Rhone "Villages" followed by the name of the town, was exceptionally created by a judicial court, in 1947.
Planted on the slopes of the historic Roman site of the Camp de Cesar, this rich territory spreads out on clayish/limestone terraces and sandy soils covered with rocks rolled by the Rhone river, land that has been planted with vineyards since ancient times.
