Integrated agriculture has revived traditional techniques. The vinegrowers have rediscovered the way their fathers worked; that is, simply going into the vineyards and observing. Agricultural habits had turned to regularly scheduled systematic pest control, too often excessive.

The integrated agriculture that the Laudun winery has instituted with the motivated vinegrowers brings with it a more harmonious method. The vines are treated after determining, through observation and scientific control, the need for treatment. This treatment takes place at just the right time, and with very controlled doses of products with little persistence.
To use this method, the ancestral techniques had to be relearned, through training sessions of 2 hours per week, including an hour of theoretical courses and an hour of practical courses on-site. This involved learning to recognize the symptoms, to understand them and to determine the best response.
The treatments are thus undertaken only when the risks are genuine - this year, a first treatment was scheduled in late May whereas with the intensive method, already two treatments were done by that time.
At the same time, the fermentation takes place with fewer problems (the phytosanitary products can inhibit the development of yeast). Triphlodromes reappear in the vineyards, reestablishing an entire ecosystem that auto-controls parasite attacks.
Early herbicides are prohibited, only leafing herbicides are used thus eliminating any persistence of the active matters in the soil.
The soil is aired out, water penetrates into the depths, the earth comes back to life.
